Do you like to make craft projects? Do you love to make delicious recipes? Do you enjoy creating your own DIY projects? Then you are in the right place.
My Story:
I (Rachel) began this blog over 11 years ago as a place to share my adventures in crafts, sewing, baking, and DIY.
I used to think that I was not creative. That I couldn't come up with my own craft ideas. BUT I loved creating. And I loved crafting.
So, I would find projects to replicate, whether it was a display at the craft store, or a girls night where someone taught me.
As I continued my crafty journey, it became easier to add my own flare and creativity to projects. And now I come up with my own ideas from start to finish.
My point in sharing this is to show that we all need to start somewhere. If you're at that place where I was, if you need ideas to replicate, if you're not confident in your creativity, then I want to help you!
You will find a wide variety of projects, each with step-by-step instructions so that you can replicate them. Or use them as a starting point and make it all your own.
I LOVE to see your projects, so please share them with me! (See the bottom of this page for ways to connect!)
Baking, on other hand, has always been a passion and something I've been good at. I started very young and had a great teacher in my mom.
She pretty much just let me bake whenever I wanted, and she let me do it on my own - something that is critical for my personality and in how I learn. I'm independent and just want to do things myself, even if I fail. (Gosh, I sound like one of my girls, whose independence drives me INSANE :)
You will find lots of tried and true dessert recipes, many of which are handed down from my grandmother.
However, I'm branching out and beginning a new adventure in teaching my kids to cook. You can watch along as we record our journey and share our dinner recipes too.
A bit about me:
I'm Rachel, a wife and a mother of four children. I have been married 24 years and we have three girls, ages 20, 15, and 13, and a boy, age 18. They keep me on my toes and I love to make things for them and for our home.

I love to read! I ALWAYS have a book on my nightstand waiting for me at the end of the day. It's the perfect way for me to unwind.
I love to bake! This is something that I've learned from my mother and she learned from hers. I hope to pass that legacy on, not just to my girls, but to my son as well.
I love to create and learn new things! I'll try just about any creative endeavor. Sometimes things don't quite pan out the way I expect, but I learn from my mistakes and keep trying. Some of the things I'd like to learn in the future are leather working and better my photography skills.
I love gardening! Now this is not something I thought I would ever say as a teenager. Mostly what I like is the satisfaction that comes from hard work.
I love canning! I love being able to preserve food in the summer and fall months to be able to use during the winter. It's something that has been done through the ages, but our generation is losing that skill, since it is so convenient and sometimes even more cost efficient to buy food from the store. {Don't get me wrong - I buy tons of food too}
I love sewing! One of my favorite things to do for my girls is to make them dresses. Some of the dresses I started out with might make you laugh. But as with everything else, with practice you always see improvement. I've learned a lot about sewing over the years, beginning with my mom teaching me and then just trying to figure things out on my own.
I love building things! My dad built cabinets for a living, we would always help. I also took wood shop classes in high school. I've built up a small collection of power tools and love to tinker around in the garage and build things for my home.
I love making my house look nice! That might mean making a new craft to display, or just picking up all the toys and clutter off the floor. You will never see my house in a magazine, but I like to think I've added some nice touches to give it a homey feel.
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! You can find more information at comeuntochrist.org. I'm always open to questions about my religion.
