SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR EASY FLEECE BLANKETS
You don't need a lot to make fleece blankets. Fleece and a cutting tool.
- fleece
- scissors and ruler, OR rotary cutter, cutting mat and straight edge
How much fleece do you need? Here's a guideline:
Baby blanket - 1 yard (makes 2 blankets) Child Blanket - 1 1/2 yard Teen/Adult Blanket 1 2 yards

Begin by preparing your fleece. Fleece is pretty much ready to go when you purchase it.I like to straighten up the edges (the store doesn't always cut straight!).
The other thing to do is remove the selvage edge. This is the edge that has all the writing on it that isn't part of the design of the fabric.
Next, since I like to get things done quickly, I fold the fabric in half.
As I work on the blanket, I will cut through both layers.
This way you can get two sides done at once.
Then simply fold the blanket the other direction and repeat the process on the remaining side.
Cut a one inch square from each corner.
Then make a cut every inch along the side of the fabric. Each cut should be one inch deep.
Make these cuts along all sides of the blanket.
That's it! You'll have a cute little fringe on the end.
Since fleece doesn't fray, there is nothing else you need to do to finish it off.
