HOW TO MAKE A WOODEN ORGANIZER WITH BOOK COVER DRAWER FRONTS
With the help of my S1, this project is super easy to make. The file has LOTS of pieces in it. To help keep track of which pieces I'd cut, I opened two canvases.
In the first one, I uploaded the file.
In the second one, I marked the cutting area. Then cut and pasted a few of the pieces from the first canvas. I arranged them to fit as many as possible on the cutting area.
Once I cut out the wood and I deleted the pieces from the second canvas and repeated the process. I did this 5-6 times until all the pieces had been cut out. (Except the front of the drawers - I did these last.)
Also, my new AP2 air filter worked great processing all these cuts! It filtered away all the smoke and dust particles.
The drawer fronts were cut from the covers of old books. I had grabbed several copies of old reader's digest books from the thrift store quite some time ago with the idea to use the covers for projects.
I cut the covers off and used them to cut out the drawer fronts.
The edges of the cut book covers were a bit charred. I just used a wet paper towel to wipe them off.
Once all the pieces were cut out, it was time to assemble them.
The cut file has instructions for assembly.
I used a bit of wood glue to join the pieces together. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the book cover pieces fit into the drawers.
Here it is all put together.
I am using it for small sewing supplies. But it would work well for any small craft supplies you need to keep organized.
