This care package is simple to put together and the perfect way to show you care.
This care package is full of traditional Easter sweets and a few Christ-centered Easter gifts.
This is a great idea for college students or for any family members who are away from home as well.
EASTER CARE PACKAGE IDEA FOR MISSIONARIES
My son is serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He's been a little bit spoiled, I just can't help myself from sending him packages often. So far, I've sent him a Thanksgiving package, a Christmas package, a winter package and a Valentine's day package.
WHAT TO PUT IN AN EASTER CARE PACKAGE
Since my son isn't home to take part in our family Easter celebrations, I sent him a box full of Easter goodness.I added a few gifts and a bunch of Easter candy.
FOOD AND TREAT IDEAS
I included lots of sweet treats typical of the Easter holiday season. I threw in some Yoggies, because he loves them, and some goldfish for a savory snack.
- Cadbury mini eggs
- robin eggs
- jelly beans
- peeps
- Reeses peanut butter eggs
- goldfish
- yoggies
NON-FOOD CARE PACKAGE IDEAS
I typically send a limited amount of non-consumable items. Since he moves every 6-12 weeks, I don't want him to have lots of extra stuff to pack around.
This is what I decided to send in this package.
- Jesus the Christ by James E Talmage
- Picture of Jesus
- BOM socks
- exercise resistance bands
I had the idea to purchase a copy of Jesus the Christ. I know he has it in his gospel library app, but I think he would enjoy a physical copy. The newer versions I saw at the bookstore were paperback. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a paperback. I wanted it to be a bit more durable and something he could use and reference throughout his life.
Every time I've browsed the book section of Deseret Industries, I have always seen older hardback copies. So I took a quick trip and luckily they had one. Only one! It took me a minute to find it. It only cost $1.50 and it was in good shape.
To keep with the Easter theme, I chose a picture of the resurrected Jesus leaving the tomb.
He loves BOM Socks, I ordered a bunch before he left. I threw a few in to surprise him at the MTC, but kept some to put into packages randomly. This particular pair features King Benjamin.
I threw in some exercise resistance bands. Missionaries are supposed to exercise daily, but circumstances at the moment make that hard in his current area. I will send him a few pictures of different exercises he can do with them.
Lastly, here's another shameless plug for my missionary cookbook. It's full of EASY things for missionaries to cook. You can print it off and send it, or you can send them the clickable PDF that they can keep on their phones.

HOW TO DECORATE YOUR EASTER GIFT BOX
I didn't decorate the actual box this time. Instead, the fun was in how it was packaged.I filled plastic eggs with the small candies. Then I placed the gifts and bulkier items in the bottom of the box. Then added easter grass and hid the easter eggs in the grass.
I added several layers of grass and eggs so he can have himself a little mini easter egg hunt when he opens the package.
