HOW TO SEW THE SPLIT STITCH (WITH 2 COLORS)
Be sure to watch the video tutorial! You will need to use an even number of threads for this stitch. I used 6 total strands, with 3 of each color.
I find it helpful to keep my colors of thread separated with each stitch. I kept the red color on top and the pink on bottom. With each stitch I made sure to keep the colors split as I work.
To begin bring your needle up at the beginning of your line. Bring your needle down a stitch length away.
Bring the needle up halfway through the stitch, splitting the thread as it comes up through.
Point 1 in the picture above is where the needle comes up through.
Put your needle down a stitch length away (Point 2).
Bring the needle up at point 3 where the last stitch ended, between the two colors of thread.
Continue this process until you get to the end of the line. Tie off on the back side.
