St. Patrick's Day is such a fun holiday to decorate for. I love shamrocks and green. And... St. Patrick's day is my birthday, so I can't let it go by without decorating for it.
So when I saw this svg file, I knew I had to use it to make a laser cut shamrock for my holiday décor this year.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR LASER CUT SHAMROCKS
- 1/8 inch basswood
- laser cutting machine (mine is an xTool S1 20W)
- craft paint in greens and gold
- Shamrock laser cut file
- hot glue gun
I used paint from my stash. The colors I used were:
- Folk Art pure gold
- Folk Art fresh cut grass
- Apple Barrel mountain forest
HOW TO MAKE LASER CUT SHAMROCK DECORATION
Begin by uploading the shamrock svg file into your laser cutting software.I wanted the pieces to all fit on a 12 X 12 piece of wood, so I adjusted the size to 5.5 inches wide.
Then let your laser cutter cut out the shamrocks.
I recently got the xTool S1 Smart Air Assist. You can see the difference below.
The shamrock on the right was cut without using the air assist.
The shamrock on the left was cut using the air assist. The difference in the amount of smoke burn is dramatic!
Next it's time to paint. I chose two different colors of green and a gold paint.
I painted both the base and the top shamrock layer in a dark green. The second to the bottom layer I did in gold and the remaining piece I did in light green.
Let dry completely.
I glued the pieces together using hot glue.
It's a darling item to add to your St. Patrick's Day decor.
