This yummy treat is a cross between cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies.
It begins with a layer of my favorite cookie dough. Next comes a cream cheese filling. Top it off by sprinkling on more cookie dough.
Bake and you have these yummy chocolate chip cream cheese cookie bars!
Each Sunday, my kids take turns making a treat. My 12 year old chose to make these cookie bars that her young women's group had made.
We made a few adjustments to be able to use what we had on hand.
Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookie Bars
I was a bit skeptical about these treats. I'd never had anything like it and wasn't sure the combination would work.
She insisted they were yummy and so we gave them a try.
She was right. They are delicious!

How to Make Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars
Begin with a batch of my favorite cookie dough.(Have you tried my chocolate chip cookies recipe yet? They are the best!)
Grease a 9 X 13 inch pan. Press 1/2 of the cookie dough into the bottom of the pan.
Next, make the cream cheese mixture. Start with 2 (8 oz) blocks of softened cream cheese. Whip until smooth, then mix in 1 c. sugar and 2 eggs. Mix thoroughly.
Pour cream cheese mixture over the cookie dough in the pan.
Sprinkle the remaining cookie dough on top. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
