These burp cloths are so simple to make. Just a little bit of fabric, and a few minutes of time and you'll be ready to gift these burp cloths.
I opted to leave mine plain, but you could totally add some trim to make them even cuter!
Today's project is part of this month's Inspire My Creativity link party. We're all making DIY Gifts. If you like to make gifts for Christmas, you know that sometimes you need a little time to plan and execute the gift making process.
So although it's the middle of November, we can't wait to share our gift ideas with you. That way, you will have time to make them for gifts too.
Super Easy Burp Cloths - a quick gift idea
It can be given anytime of year and will definitely be appreciated by the new baby's mom. I mean, you can never have enough burp rags with a newborn. Am I right?!
In the past, I have made some rag-top burp cloths {and a ragtop blanket}. Those are pretty easy, but I wanted these burp cloths to be SUPER easy. As in only 3 steps and less than 10 minutes and you're done easy.
So let's get started!
How to Make Easy Flannel Burp Cloths in 3 Easy Steps
Supplies needed for Flannel Burp Rags
flannel {scraps work great}scissors or rotary cutter and mat
something round
serger / thread
{I realize that not everyone has a surger. In that case, try the following: Ragtop Burp cloths, DIY Burp Cloths, or Homemade Baby Burp Cloths.
Step 1 - Cut the fabric to size
For each burp cloth you will need two pieces of fabric that are 10 X 20 inches. These measurements do not have to be exact! If you are using scraps and are an inch or so off, no biggie. You will however want both pieces of fabric to be the same size.
Use the same fabric pattern for both sides of the burp rag, or use two coordinating fabrics.
Step 2 - Round the corners
Grab a bowl, or a can of soup and use it to round the corners. I set the can in place and cut right around it with my rotary cutter. If using scissors, you may want to mark it with a pencil and then cut it.Step 3 - Surge both fabrics together.
Place the two pieces of fabric WRONG sides together. Then simply surge all the way around the edge of the burp cloth. That's it! SO easy and SO quick.
