Today I'm sharing a quick little personalized Valentines candle. They are super easy and fun to make.
You'll need just a few supplies and you'll be ready to make your own personalized candles.

My kids each made one to give to their teachers. I love how their personalities and handwriting is captured. I got the candles at the dollar store, so it's an inexpensive gift as well.

Not only are these great teacher gifts, but grandparents would love them too.
Supplies needed for personalized candles
- a white candle
How to Make your own Personalized Valentine's Candles
- Gather your supplies.
- Trim a piece of tissue paper to fit the candle. Then draw your design with the markers. Be sure to have a piece of paper underneath, because the markers will definitely bleed through the tissue paper.
- Cut around your design and remove any excess tissue paper.
- Place your tissue paper on your candle.
- Wrap the wax paper around the candle, keeping the tissue paper in place.
- Use the heat gun to melt your design into the candle.
Remove the wax paper and you'll be amazed at how it just becomes part of the candle.
My kids had a lot of fun making these. My oldest daughter wants to make some for each of the holidays. Since they are so inexpensive and easy, we probably will.

ReplyDeleteShould the wax side of the wax paper touch the tissue or face outward?
ReplyDeleteThe wax paper I use is waxy on both sides. If it's only waxy on one side, then place the waxy side facing the candle and the tissue paper. Hope that helps - I'd love to see how yours turn out!

Deletecan you use a blow dryer?
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know if a blow dryer will work or not. It has to be hot enough for the candle to melt a bit so the tissue will adhere. If you try it, let us know how if it works.

ReplyDeleteYou can use any size, but the ones I used were about 2 inches in diameter and about 3 inches or so tall.

ReplyDeleteAny idea if this would work on a faux candle (one with a fake flame) or does it have to be a real wax candle?
ReplyDeleteThe reason the tissue paper adheres to the candle is because you melt it just a little. I’m not sure if it would work on a flame less candle , I guess it depends on what the faux candle is made of. Let us know if you try it and how it goes.

ReplyDeleteI have never tried it, so I'm not sure. I would think that as long as they are fairly smooth it would work. Let us know how it goes.
