Juicy pomegranates, soft bananas, crunchy walnuts all mixed together in a creamy sweet concoction.
POMEGRANATE FRUIT SALAD RECIPE
One of my favorite things about Thanksgiving is pomegranate fruit salad.(It doesn't have to be made for Thanksgiving dinner. But pomegranates are in season in November and December, so it has become our tradition. It could also be a yummy side to your Christmas dinner.)
This tasty salad was first introduced into our family by my uncle probably 25 years ago.
Every year since then it has graced my grandma's or mom's Thanksgiving table. And I've introduced it to my husbands family.
It takes a while to pick out the pomegranate seeds. But it's only once a year and it's so worth it!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR POMEGRANATE SALAD
Here's what you need for creamy pomegranate salad:
- whipped cream
- mini marshmallows
- pomegranate seeds
- bananas
- chopped walnuts
- vanilla
- sugar
HOW TO MAKE POMEGRANATE FRUIT SALAD
This recipe is not hard. However it is time consuming. And planning ahead is necessary. The night before you will be serving the salad, whip the cream with the sugar. Stir in the vanilla and marshmallows. Refrigerate overnight.
The next step is to remove the pomegranate seeds. This can take a long time. Sometimes I do this the night before as well to have everything prepped to quickly mix the salad together the next day.
You can purchase pre-seeded pomegranates at some grocery stores now. This would save a lot of time. They are quite a bit more expensive, so I haven't yet done this.
Add the pomegranate seeds, sliced bananas and chopped walnuts to the cream mixture and stir to combine.
That's it! I like to add a few pomegranate seeds and walnuts on top to garnish.
