Did any of your children receive a Rapunzel doll for Christmas? My 5 year old got one. I kept telling her to try to be careful not to mess up her hair. And she really tried, but with all that hair, it's never going to stay looking nice. Not unless you set Rapunzel on a shelf and not play with the her.
So what did I do? I finally convinced my daughter to let me braid Rapunzel's hair. I let her pick which ribbons to add to her hair and I did a 5 piece braid.
Begin by brushing all the hair, then separate into five pieces. Tie ribbon to a small piece of hair in each section. Braid in a 5 piece braid.
Look you can see her face!
I also did the same thing with her little mini doll.
After a few weeks, her hair still looks pretty nice. Of course, it's gotten a little messy, but no where near what it would look like if it wasn't braided.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter got a Belle doll similar to this one for Christmas, and her hair is a tangled mess already, so I can't imagine how Rapunzel's hair would be in our house! Maybe I'll give this a try for Belle.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! How smart to prevent her hair from getting all gnarly like doll hair can do.
ReplyDeleteI seriously wish I'd read this last year at this time, before Rapunzel went in for a trim :/ oh well..very good idea though! You are more than welcome to join our blog hop-Photo Friday. Have a super weekend!
ReplyDeletecheers!
We have this same doll and I have battled knots and ripped out more hair than I care to admit when trying to detangle (hers and mine). Thanks for the tip! Visiting from Shine On Fridays.
ReplyDeleteGreat job I wish I'd seen this before ours got a bald spot.
