This recipe is super quick and easy. You can have it made in under five minutes. Sometimes when things don't go as planned, you need a five minute recipe to fall back on.
Caramel Fruit Dip
You see last week I had an activity planned for some girls in our neighborhood. For a treat, I decided to try out a caramel recipe for dipping that I had pinned. The instructions said to place the brown sugar in the pan and cook until it turns to liquid. I've never done that before, but it worked. The problem was the next step. It said to add the butter and stir until melted. Well, this was the result of that.
That didn't quite look like the picture I pinned - hah!
At that point, I had literally five minutes until the girls arrived. I'm so glad I had this recipe from my aunt to fall back on. I softened the cream cheese in the microwave, since I hadn't planned on making it.
Here's the secret optional ingredient:
It is super good with or without the toffee bits. It just depends on my mood if I add them or not.
My kids love this! But they have to fight me for it, since I love it too. It's good with all kinds of fruit, but I especially like it with apples.
