It's time again for Book Reviews. Here are the books I've read in the last month. I'd love to know what you've been reading and what you thought of it. I'm always on the look out for more good books to read.
One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I think the concept behind the book is good. Be grateful for the little things in your life. However, I could not get into the book. In fact, I don't think I even made it a quarter of the way through the book. The style of writing was foreign to me. It was overly descriptive, to the point of being distracting. I also found it kind of weird, for example she would dedicate paragraphs to how beautiful soap bubbles in the sink were or how she loved the way shredded cheese curled - all in the overly descriptive flowery type writing.
Stone Cold by David Baldacci
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Great book! I really like David Baldacci's style of writing. He has a unique way of describing things.
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I couldn't put this book down. The only bad side is waiting for the next book to come out.
America's Cheapest Family Gets You Right on the Money: Your Guide to Living Better, Spending Less, and Cashing in on Your Dreams by Steve Economides
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
There were some great tips for saving money. A lot of the things were common sense. I came away with a renewed resolve to stay within my budget.
I loved Divergent and Insurgent. I couldn't put them down either.
