The recipe originates from my Grandma. They are slightly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. They are oh so good.
They also freeze very well so I make up a batch or two and throw them in the freezer and pull them out when I've got a craving for them.

INGREDIENTS FOR SOFT GINGER COOKIES
- shortening
- sugar
- molasses
- egg
- flour
- salt
- baking soda
- cinnamon
- cloves
- ginger
HOW TO MAKE MOLASSES COOKIES
- Cream shortening, sugar and molasses.
- Stir in egg.
- Add dry ingredients and mix well.
- Roll dough into quarter sized balls.
- Dip cookie balls into sugar.
- Bake on a greased pan at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
