We had tons of fun on our trip to Disneyland. Before we left, I spent some time figuring out ways to make the long drive easier. I found this great website. It has tons of activities to do in the car. It also has printable activities like bingo games, scavenger hunts and a list of the states for the license plate game.
I gathered supplies for each kid to have their own travel bag. Inside was a bag of treats, coloring books, crayons, a chalkboard and chalk and a plain notebook. They also added a couple books to read. Mostly I used stuff we already had, but I did buy each of them a new coloring book.
Here are the chalkboards I made for them using scraps. They measure 10" X 12".
I put flannel on the back so that they could play...
checkers with the travel checker board I made. (More details tomorrow)
or tic tac toe
or play with tangrams.
I printed off the tangram template here, and some tangram puzzles here.
I traced the shapes onto felt and cut them out.
I hope this helps any of you who have a long trip in the future.

I LOVE the felt ideas. My daughter isn't quite ready for that, yet, but I'm pinning, 'cause she will be before too long.:) Thanks so much!

They look nice. I'm not great at Tangrams (I wish my brain worked like that) at all, but what a great collection of ideas.
